I moved to New York City in August to begin my life. I came from a sleepy town in Michigan, leaving an anxious mother and a lazy cat behind to pursue my goal of getting a double-major bachelor's degree and live in a place where there is no predominate race. I am gaining my footing in this city, slowly but steadily, and already I'm convinced this is my home.
